One-day Student Leadership Development Experience
OPPORTUNITY: Beginning in 1994, Fran Kick teamed up with Frank Crockett, a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist and member of the Association for Experiential Education (AEE) to create this one-day program at Dartmouth Hospital, a private, for-profit in-patient behavioral health facility.
RESULT: By combining Fran’s high-energy presentations with Frank’s high-level ropes course experiences, this program integrated leadership and teambuilding theory into an interactive hands-on day for high school student leaders. This non-stop, 9am to 9pm, fast-paced program reached student councils from area high schools in the summer of 1994 and 1995.
PRESENTED BY:
Fran Kick and Frank Crockett first started collaboratively leading interactive experiential programming with this program in 1994. Both Fran and Frank created a series of interactive, team-building, problem-solving initiatives which integrate leadership theory into hands-on practice right then and there. This one-day event was a high-energy, high-level ropes course, leadership and team-building experience for high school student councils.
