Administrator Summit
2011 Avon High School • 2012 Carmel High School
OPPORTUNITY: In 2011 and 2012, the Indiana State School Music Association in collaboration with Music for All/Bands of America, co-hosted a school administrative summit. The event happened in conjunction with the BOA Grand National Championships each November. The goal was to connect school board members, principals, administrators, fine arts supervisors, and music booster officers from across the county.
RESULT: Hosted at Avon High School in 2011 and Carmel High School in 2012, participating school board members, principals, administrators, fine arts supervisors, and music booster officers were transported from Lucas Oil Stadium to the school in the morning. Fran Kick led a get-to-know-each-other, perception-sharing opening session followed by a facilitated dialogue with an idea-swapping, issue-prioritizing interactive activity. A sponsored lunch from Music Travel Consultants was provided and a facility tour of each world-class music education high school campus wrapped up the day before being transported back to downtown Indianapolis.
