Calgary Stampede
2024 Two-Day Collaboration
OPPORTUNITY: Thanks to Mike Jewitt, Executive Director of the Calgary Performing Arts Festival, the Calgary Stetson Show Band, as well as the Round-Up Show Band, and Tricia Howe, Regional Manager of Educational Resources at Long & McQuade Musical Instruments, Fran Kick was able to share two days in Calgary KICKin’ IT IN with music students, teachers, and regional performing arts organizational leaders.
RESULTS: Fran created an interactive student leadership workshop for the combined Calgary Stetson, Round-Up, Stampede Showbands on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 inside the Big Four Roadhouse in Stampede Park. The second day featured an engaging evening of both professional development and an end-of-the-school-year celebration with area music educators as well as performing arts organizational leaders on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at Mount Royal University. 57 individual ideas across 7 different themes were identified by participants to keep doing, stop doing, pursue doing, and explore doing.
DESCRIPTION: Join us for a Happy Hour Celebration to frame a Happy School Year! Drinks and hors d’oeuvres are included as we bring together music educators and organizations for this special celebration program. Fran Kick will be facilitating an interactive presentation designed to spark some ideas and insight on how we can all collaborate and celebrate music education. His unique use of Napkinology™ will create a way for people and ideas to be shared within a casual, non-threatening, fun, facilitated experience.
“Fran Kick’s time here in Calgary was nothing short of extraordinary. His dynamic presentations and engaging approach left an indelible mark on our community, inspiring students, educators, and leaders alike. Fran’s unique ability to connect with audiences of all ages—whether through his motivational talks or interactive workshops—truly elevated the impact of our programs.
Our end-of-the-year celebration reception was one of the most interactive and engaging events we have ever hosted in the province, thanks to Fran. He brought to life his Napkinology™ approach to bringing people and ideas together in such a way that everyone felt connected, inspired, and ready to act. His ability to custom-create and read the room on the spot brought a dynamic energy that kept everyone engaged and fully immersed in the experience.
Fran demonstrated an unmatched passion for empowering young people to take initiative, embrace responsibility, and lead with purpose. His energy and insights resonated deeply with all.”
The Calgary Performing Arts Festival, the Alberta International Band Festivals, and all three Calgary Stetson, Round-Up, and Stampede Showbands created a two-day series of programs with Fran Kick.
“Fran is amazing!”
