Learning Lessons
micro-Learning Summer Sessions
OPPORTUNITY: Given the COVID-19 pandemic, Music for All was forced to shut down their Summer Symposium. Having a long history with the organization, Fran Kick proposed creating a series of short, video based, eCourse-like learning modules for all the outside marching band tracks.
RESULTS: Using Skype video interviews and prerecorded video footage from each of the 19 faculty, Fran produced, created, and edited together all 13 micro-Learning Summer Symposium Sessions plus the 26 Leadership Lessons. While Fran managed the process with all the faculty, secured video interview releases, and built the eCourse video format, Judy Kick developed and designed all the graphics for the series. The goal for each video was simple: Learn it, work it, share it! This micro-Learning Lesson pilot project was funded in part by grants and served high school marching band directors and students during the pandemic thanks to generous support from funders and sponsors.
