Attitude Concepts for Today

Student Leadership Workshops with Fran Kick

Attitude Concepts for Today

OPPORTUNITY: In 1991, Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser expressed an interest in having Fran Kick create a middle school student leadership workshop to be presented in conjunction with selected high school student leadership workshops Tim was presenting across the U.S. Knowing there was a developmental difference in student leadership for middle school students, Fran created a highly-interactive team building session that focused on the following key lessons:

  • Increased Self-Awareness and Personal Responsibility
  • Positive Attitudes vs. Negative Attitudes
  • Defining Leadership In Terms of Involvement
  • The Benefits of Cooperation

RESULTS: From 1992-1997, Fran Kick and Tim Lauzenheiser presented workshops together for middle school and high school students in Arizona, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin. Fran and Tim co-branded and marketed the programs with Judy Kick creating a series of printed flyers mailed to teachers and principals.

I want you to know that the positive effects of the work you did with my students are still being felt. Your program was exciting, energetic and full of impact on both student and teacher attitudes. They were able to understand your message because you were able to communicate with them in a way that made them feel important and valuable. I have seen a sense of pride developing within the group. They feel good about themselves and their mission. They are one fired-up group of kids right now and I keep telling them it only gets better from here. KICK IT IN is a fun, exciting, meaningful program that has great potential for affecting positive changes in the world we live in. I honor the work you are doing and wish you continued success!”

“The leadership workshop brought focus to many of the things our staff is trying to do with the students. I believe that your suggestions and examples provided students with a stimulus to strive for personal excellence. They no feel, more than ever, that they can make a difference in their own lives, and their attitude is the key.”

“Your seminar very pointedly addressed the concepts of attitude that affect our life and that you have a choice of what your attitude will be and how it will affect your life. The seminar was fun, full of energy, motivational, organized and was addressed to meet the needs of the students from various backgrounds. It made my students listen, think and analyze their own attitudes and thought processes toward everyday situations that they face.”

Your workshop is important to us! We look forward to it each year, and the kids are just thrilled to be chosen to attend. It is one event each year for which I get the most number (by far!) of personal thank you’s from the students.”

I get a real KICK out of watching Fran in action. He’s got the right stuff and delivers it in a powerfully positive presentation. After twenty years of sharing the stage with fantastic speakers who bring a substantive message to their audiences, I haven’t experienced anyone who can communicate with such power and passion as Fran Kick.”
