NAfME Collegiate + Tri-M®
A Nationwide “Spotlight on Service”
OPPORTUNITY: In May 2022, Susan Smith, Chair of the Collegiate Advisory Council with the National Association for Music Education, reached out to Fran Kick about creating a first-ever joint Tri-M® Music Honor Society + NAfME Collegiate member event. The idea was to bring high school and college students together with their advisors to highlight how participating in NAfME programs builds better leaders and impacts the world.
Working with Susan, the theme of “Spotlight on Service” was identified for this joint Tri-M® Music Honor Society and NAfME Collegiate event. Fran prerecorded an interview with Dr. Tim Lautzenheiser, National Tri-M Chair sharing three main goals:
- Build impact with service beyond just your Collegiate or Tri-M Chapter
- Grow your membership with more collaboration across your campus
- Create intentional interaction with Collegiate members and area Tri-M members
RESULT: September 15, 2022 high school and college students joined online for the first-ever joint Tri-M® Back-to-School NAfME Collegiate Kickoff Week event! Fran Kick edited the prerecorded interview with Tim Lautzenheiser so it could be streamed as the opening segment followed by live Q&A interaction with advisors and students from across the country. The event sparked so much excitement, engagement, and impact with all the NAfME Collegiate and Tri-M® chapters that it has become an annual event.
IN ADDITION: Fran Kick created a series of short promotional social media videos with Susan Smith and Cameron Jenkins such as this one:
PRESENTED BY:
